Publix #721 (Former A&P) - Alpharetta, GA.

A&P Food Market #41-107/Publix #721
4305 State Bridge Road, Alpharetta, GA - Alpharetta Commons

Opened on May 22, 1997 as A&P Food Market #41-107 and is 69,000 square feet in size. Later sold to Publix and reopened as store 721 on September 2, 1999 after 2 years as an A&P.

The primary entrance is under that large arch and Publix sign. Photos are courtesy of Google Maps unless otherwise noted.

After entering through the main entrance, you are greeted with produce and floral, plus the deli/bakery departments. This store completed its most recent remodel in December 2011 into a prototype version of the Sienna interior used by Publix. This part of the store reminds me of a Kash N' Karry, similar to an image found here.

I'm not sure of what interior was used by this store during the A&P days, but I will say "Fresh 1.0".

Looking towards the grocery part of the store from floral, we can see that this store has not 12 or 16, but 20 total aisles! This is one large Publix supermarket at almost 70,000 square feet!

This Publix cooking school was added in the 2011 remodel in order to bring this Publix into a deluxe one.

The Publix café/dining area inside store 721, which was added in 2011.

After exiting the dining/cooking school areas, here we have the Publix deli, home of the Pub Subs! Immediately after that is a specialty cheese counter.

It's also kind of interesting since this store received backlit signs for major departments such as the bakery shown here.

We're just 18 aisles away until the very first grocery aisle inside store 721, with a look at the back right corner (after the grand aisle, number 20)

Here is the meat service counter, located in between dairy and seafood.

Aisle 9, which consists of pet foods/auto products/light bulbs. If you look closely after the aisle 10 sign, you can see the Publix Pharmacy, located in between aisles 11 to 13.

Frozen foods are found here in aisle 2 (and possibly 1 or 3).

Looking at the opposite end of the back of the store, approaching aisle 5. Meat products are found to my right.

The Publix customer service desk, which uses the 2000's-model rounded front formation. Photo is courtesy of Foursquare.

From customer service, this is a view of the Publix pharmacy and aisle 13. The drop-off/pickup areas of the pharmacy are on that same aisle.

Looking in the opposite direction, where we can see the final 2 aisles (18 and 19) in this store.

Here is another Foursquare photo, showing the self-checkout lanes that were added in the 2011 remodel.

If you want to know the number of cashier checkouts, there are 8 of them.

Thanks for shopping at Publix #721!

And finally, to conclude our post, here is one of the main road signs for Publix #721. Some of the letters in the Publix sign appears to be pushed in a little.
