Publix/Albertsons #4374/Publix #1307/Publix #1506 3838 Britton Plaza, Tampa, FL Opened in 1956 as a Wing Store Publix. After serving the Tampa area for 32 years, the former Publix closed in 1987 to rebuild as an Albertsons. Albertsons #4374 opened in 1989. In 2008, this was one of the 50 Albertsons stores to convert to Publix, and reopened as Publix #1307 in 2009, bringing Publix back into the plaza 21 years after closing the original store. Closed on March 14, 2015 to build a new and smaller store. Publix #1506 opened on December 10, 2015. Even though that this is a 2010's Publix on the inside, the outside reminds me of an early 2000's built Albertsons, because of the arch setup (large arch for entry, small arch for exiting). Coexists with another Publix ( store #310 ) 1.5 miles to the south. "ENTRY" says the main entrance doors. It is the opposite for exiting the store.
