Britton Plaza Publix - Tampa, FL

Publix/Albertsons #4374/Publix #1307/Publix #1506
3838 Britton Plaza, Tampa, FL

Opened in 1956 as a Wing Store Publix. After serving the Tampa area for 32 years, the former Publix closed in 1987 to rebuild as an Albertsons. Albertsons #4374 opened in 1989. In 2008, this was one of the 50 Albertsons stores to convert to Publix, and reopened as Publix #1307 in 2009, bringing Publix back into the plaza 21 years after closing the original store. Closed on March 14, 2015 to build a new and smaller store. Publix #1506 opened on December 10, 2015.

Even though that this is a 2010's Publix on the inside, the outside reminds me of an early 2000's built Albertsons, because of the arch setup (large arch for entry, small arch for exiting). Coexists with another Publix (store #310) 1.5 miles to the south.

"ENTRY" says the main entrance doors. It is the opposite for exiting the store.

Now that we have passed the first set of enter doors, this is our official welcome to the Britton Plaza Publix.

Added in 2018 is this Publix Delivery space, where a person from Instacart gets your groceries, and then delivers the items to your home. This was previously space for Hallmark cards before they were moved to aisle 6.

The floral department, located before produce. You can see the ceiling transition in this photo.

The in-store Publix Bakery, with the blue oval-shaped awning. This location of the Publix bakery has been the same since the early 2000's.

Located after the deli, is the wine department. There is no wine attendant featured here.

Located in a portion of the grand aisle, is the produce department. A portion of the Aprons counter is visible.

Now we have come to the seafood department, complete with coolers and a full-service counter.

Located after seafood, is the in-store meat department.

Aisle 1 only runs ¾ of it's length, because of the produce department. You can see the transition at the end of aisle 1.

Aisle 6 is the end of the first portion of the lowered ceiling in the store. The transition can be seen on aisles 6 and 7.

Aisle 9 is home to a dedicated section of frozen foods.

Next, we have aisle 10, which begins the second round of the ceiling transition, which runs to aisle 13.

Aisle 15, home to the dairy department, dry groceries, and fitness products. The pharmacy is straight ahead.

The store's pharmacy department. Due to the other tenants in the plaza, there is no drive thru pharmacy at this location.

The store's 11 checkouts, only 10 are shown in the photo.

Thank you for shopping Publix!

Looking up from the exit doors, are these decorative materials. There are a total of 8 lights above the exit doors, and is a feature found only in the current Publix store models.

Now let's go outside for the liquor store!
