We are... Meatbay!
Sweetbay Supermarket #1923/Winn-Dixie #2509
10665 Big Bend Rd, Riverview, FL - Shoppes of Southbay
Opened in 2006 as Sweetbay Supermarket #1923, and is a sister store to 13016 Race Track Rd (one of the locations where Sweetbay ads were filmed). In 2014, this was one of the Sweetbay stores to be converted to Winn-Dixie, and reopened as Winn-Dixie #2509.
The first set of doors, which will take us into the remodeled Winn-Dixie.
Welcome to your Big Bend Road Winn-Dixie! The welcome sign is complete with historical photos from older Winn-Dixie locations.
The floral department is the first thing that you will see once you enter the store.
There are 2 sections of produce in this store, we are looking at the left side of produce.
Natural & Organic is the name of the store's health foods section.
The in-store bakery department. All of Sweetbay's interior and tile backsplash was phased out for Winn-Dixie's. At least that there are decor relics, like the curved front!
"The Kitchen" is the name of one of the sections in the deli department.
Located after the deli, is the specialty cheese section.
This would be the Meatbay butcher's favorite section: Meat and seafood!
Aisle 4.
Aisle 9 is one of the aisles in frozen foods.
Newer Winn-Dixie aisle signage, used since 2018. I would like to name this decor Down Down 2.0.
Aisle 12 is one of the health and beauty aisles.
Aisle 13, home of (mostly) baby products.
The pharmacy department, complete with a drive thru on the outside!
Health and beauty aisle 3, and aisle 14.
Customer service was relocated from checkout 1, to this section.
The store's checkouts (7 in total).
Thank you for shopping at Winn-Dixie! Now let's end this post with a Sweetbay ad featuring the Meatbay butcher:

Nice photos! I like how this remodel turned out. I think the existing curved soffits and high ceiling work really well with Winn-Dixie's new woodgrain décor and black tile backsplash. The pharmacy signage is interesting, too. Is that shape a Sweetbay remnant as well?
ReplyDeleteThat is a Sweetbay remnant.
