Say Hello to Harvey's, Volume 2

Winn-Dixie #637/Harvey's #1717
7851 Palm River Rd, Tampa, FL

Opened on May 10, 1989 as Winn-Dixie #637, a replacement for a Winn-Dixie store located where the Save A Lot building is now. Reopened as Harvey's #1717 on November 7, 2017.

Here is the Winn-Dixie firebombing of July 2, 1983: William Ferry Jr. was shopping at the former Palm River Winn-Dixie until the store was exploded. The incident was caused by gasoline fuel and a matchstick. That store opened in June 1973.

Harvey's current look consists of the logo, along with the slogan.

Harvey's main entrance doors.

The cart storage area is located in the former photo center. The shopping carts are now green, and the welcome message is replaced by a brief history of Harvey's supermarkets. The decor that you see peeking out of the letter P is the yellow version of the Down Down interior, the same version used in Fresco y Más, and in a blog post from AFB that is titled "Un Tipo Diferente de Winn-Dixie - ¡Es Fresco y Más!" (A Different Type of Winn-Dixie - It's Fresco y Más!)

In recently remodeled Winn-Dixie stores, there is a dollar section! The dollar section takes up aisles 2 and 3.

Produce takes up the right side of the store, similar to a pre-Marketplace store.

This is a large Deli department for a Harvey's store! After the deli comes seafood.

Harvey's seafood department has a small full-service counter to the left of the seafood coolers. There is no butcher shop in this Harvey's.

Aisle 3.

Aisle 4, home to beverages and drink mixers.

The meat department. Like I said earlier, there is no butcher shop in this store.

FROZEN FOOD. Because of these 5 foot tall signs, you can't miss these signs when in another department!

The lunch meat area immediately follows frozen meats.

An example of Harvey's aisle signage.

Aisle 13. If there was a pharmacy counter in this store, then it would be located at the end of this aisle (There was a former Eckerd in this plaza, so no pharmacy for Harvey's!).

An example of advertising for Harvey's. This is for the low prices and the down down prices program.

Unlike the Harvey's in Cocoa, this store has a full-service bakery!

This store ends it's grocery aisles at aisle 17. Aisle 17 is also a portion of the dairy department.

Now that we have finished aisle 17, this is a look at the end of the grocery aisle, with signage for lunch meats, frozen foods, meat, seafood, and the deli.

Aisle 14 is one of the health and beauty aisles in the store.

This is one busy checkout line! These photos were taken during grand opening week, so all 6 or 7 checkouts were packed!

A partially blocked view of the customer service desk.

Thank you for shopping at your Palm River Harvey's!

We have now left Harvey's #1717, and this will be the conclusion of another blog post by GTB Retail.
