Save A Lot #307 (US 301) - Riverview, FL
U-Save Supermarkets #41/Bealls Outlet #335 & Save A Lot #307
9624 US 301, Riverview, FL - Riverview Oaks Shopping Center
Originally opened as U-Save store #41 in 1983 and closed in 2008. In 2009, the space was subdivided into Bealls Outlet #335 and Save A Lot #307 with Bealls Outlet being a relocation from 9630 US 301, which is currently home to Party Liquors since 2021 and formerly a gym named The Sports Club from 2016 to 2020.
The entire plaza is still owned by B&B Corporate Holdings, which is a holdover from when U-Save operated here. Also, both the former U-Save and the current Save A Lot have the word "save" in their names, which emphasizes them as discount grocery stores.
Save A Lot's way of inserting a quarter into a shopping cart is similar to what Aldi uses.
Save A Lot. Like, a lot a lot.
Since this space is split into two tenants, Save A Lot's address is 9624-A, while Bealls Outlet's is just 9624. This particular Save A Lot has two sets of combination entry/exit doors, similar to a 61M model Publix.
The first department seen after entering through the doors is produce, also known by Save A Lot as fruits & veggies.
This interior was introduced in 2018 alongside the current all-lowercase logo, but didn't make it into this store until a remodel in 2021.
In addition to the produce department seen above, aisle 1 has canned foods.
Beverages are found at the end of aisle 1. The meats/cuts & chops department is also visible.
At the rear of the store, deli meats is to the left and straight ahead is dairy and frozen foods.
Breakfast and baking products in addition to oil and spices are found on aisle 4.
Another "Save A Lot. Like, a lot a lot" sign.
Two sections of dairy, "milk and juice" and "dairy fresh". This was taken from the end of aisle 7.
Aisles 7 and 8 have frozen food products. Aisle 7 also contains snacks.
Aisle 8, the store's final aisle, continues the section of frozen foods and also has dairy products and beer/wine.
Another look at the milk/juice section of the dairy department, seen from aisle 8.
Beer and wine can be found at the end of aisle 8.
Since Save A Lot is not a full-service supermarket unlike Publix and Winn-Dixie, their selection of bakery items is baked goods. This is the only department in the store that uses a picture of an item instead of a word.
This Save A Lot has 4 checkouts. The checkout signs can be flipped to reveal the word "CLOSED" or the lane number, similar to Walmart Neighborhood Market's with the first edition of Black Décor 2.0.
The two periods in the thank you sign are in red, which is the same color used from the dot in Save A Lot's logo.
Here is a sign from the shopping cart return that fell down into the grass.
Despite Save A Lot's logo change in 2018, the carts still have the previous logo from 2004.
Here is the road sign for the Riverview Oaks Shopping Center, which faces US 301 and is original from U-Save.
