Publix #2141 - Apollo Beach, FL
Publix #2141
3050 19th Avenue NE, Apollo Beach, FL - Wolf Creek Commons
Publix #2141 opened on August 13, 2026, being the first of the new 50M-formatted stores in Hillsborough County and the first Publix with a mezzanine (partial second level) in Apollo Beach. Although the Publix website has a Ruskin, FL 33570 address and the Google Maps listing has an Apollo Beach, FL 33572 address, the shopping center is inside Apollo Beach area limits.
Debuted as a successor to the 48M with the opening of store 2117 (Thompson Nursery in Winter Haven) on June 18, 2026, the square footage of Publix's 50M stores is 50,325 square feet compared to 48,387 square feet for the existing 48M model, making it 1,938 square feet larger. The interior layout is similar to a 48M although with some noticeable changes.
This is the new chainwide design of informational signage placed at the main doors. It is back to being taped directly to the window instead of on a separate frame.
Although not shown, since the cart storage vestibule now has windows looking into the store, the welcome sign has been relocated to the right side wall.
What's interesting about this Publix is that the promotional signage is the only source of Spanish text found at store 2141, since the English-only version of the Evergreen Environment Package is in use.
After not being included on any of the 48M stores since 2021, the meat counter is back into its full-service form on the 50M, with the 48M's location of meat and seafood being reversed (although still placed after the grand aisle with deli and produce).
A Wheelock EL4XST-FR alarm signaling strobe found in meat prep (There's also another one in seafood prep). Although not the first Publix with LED-based signals, my visit to store 2141 was the first time that I found them in person. It is all part of the Fire-Lite ES-200X (Honeywell Endurance Series) FACP that's found at the communications closet on the mezzanine.
A view of the rear actionway with aisles 8 to 15 on the left, the dairy department straight ahead, followed by bakery at the end.
A close-up view of the refrigerated dairy cases with signage above.
Publix #2141 uses the March 2024 version of the Evergreen interior (debuted at store 1848) with most fonts now in their custom version of Avenir called "MrGeorge", named after Publix's founder George W. Jenkins.
Aisle 15 has bagged ice along with beer and wine.
The front end is similar to a 48M, even with the same number of checkouts.
Here is the first set of thank you signage, placed next to the restrooms (And this one now includes a full-stop period at the end).
Beginning with their Miami-division stores and eventually becoming chainwide in August, Publix modified their express lane policy by removing the 10-item limit. The sign is similar to before except with the chevrons being shorter.
Although the placement of the mezzanine is similar to the 48M and the 55M-2, what makes the end of the public portion different than the 48M is the relocated emergency exit stairwell door.
Outside of the secondary restrooms, this Elkay LZSTL8WSLP bottle filler and water cooler is designed for high-traffic use since there are two stations.
An amenity counter is found in between the main stairs and elevator. The signage for the two areas is in DIN 1451, which is the original (and still used) typeface on the Evergreen Environment Package.
Now there are two thank you signs on Publix's 50M store model!
And this extra thank you sign is the reverse side of their Now Open banner.
Publix's Presto! ATM now with the Diebold Nixdorf DN Series 250 model.
Mailboxes used for various tenants in Wolf Creek Commons (Lockers 4 to 7 listed future tenants at the time this picture was taken)
Publix Liquors #2141 with the new style of signage that debuted with the opening of store 1846 (Terra Crossing in Louisville) on January 10, 2024.
And finally, the road sign for Wolf Creek Commons facing 30th Street NE.
