"Sproutbertsons" in Valrico! - Former Albertsons #4436 and Sprouts Farmers Market #613

On this edition of GTB Retail's blog posts, we are covering a Sprouts-converted Albertsons in the suburbs of Valrico, Florida.

PART 1: Former Albertsons #4436

3313 Lithia Pinecrest Rd, Valrico, FL

Albertsons #4436 opened in 1997 with the Blue/Gray Market interior and got the brown repaint in the early to mid 2000's. Closed on June 9, 2012 when Albertsons decreased the Florida store count from 17 to 4.

One of my recreations of this former Albertsons store in December 2018.

What the store looked like in June 2016, showing an empty storefront. Sprouts later subdivided the former Albertsons and put a PetSmart in the left side of the original building.

Albertsons exit decals are still on the doors! This is also a typical mid to late 1990's entryway for Albertsons stores.

A peek inside from one of the enter doors, showing the early 2000's brown refresh of Blue and Gray Market interior. There are still plenty of Publix stores that still has the 1990's Albertsons store layout here in Florida.

Here is a sample of text from Albertsons Florida Blog describing this interior:

"By 1997, Blue and Gray Market was outdated, as that interior was first introduced around 1985. 1997 was the year Albertsons finally retired Blue and Gray Market when they replaced it with the Blue and Green Awnings interior, which was a much needed refresh. Unfortunately, this store was built prior to the rollout of Blue and Green Awnings."

Now heading outside, we are presented with the left side of the building, showing the former liquor store and a Food labelscar.

PART 2: Sprouts Farmers Market #613

3315 Lithia Pinecrest Rd, Valrico, FL

Sprouts #613 opened in February 2018 in the right half of the former Albertsons. A PetSmart opened in the left half after Sprouts opened.

Hello all Valrico residents who were just joining us for coverage of the Albertsons buildings!

Sprouts Farmers Market started as a fruit stand in 1943 and opened it’s first store branded as Sprouts in 2002.

Sprouts even has a health and beauty section, but no pharmacy!

Sprouts Bakery is located to the left of the deli department.

Sprouts Farmers Market has bulk foods, with over 150 varieties! Buy in bulk and save!
