From Organic to Regular: A Revisit to Publix #1182

Publix GreenWise Market #1182/Publix #1182
2401 W. Azeele St, Tampa, FL.

Opened on November 6, 2008 as the third GreenWise Market store to open in the state of Florida. In July 2019, conversion from GreenWise to a regular Publix started due to the construction of the Water Street store.

The exterior is from this store's days as a Publix GreenWise, just with Publix signs replacing the 2008 ones.

This Publix has not one, but two floors of parking in the garage! Maximum clearance is 8 feet, 2 inches.

Here is parking level 2, also known as rooftop parking.

This is an automatic door, but in order to open it from the outside, you have to press a handicap button.

Parking level 1. This picture was taken in February 2019 when the store was a Publix GreenWise.

Let's go down the escalator to the first floor!

Note that the escalator only serves the ground floor and parking level 1.

This is a view of the store from the escalator going up to the first floor. I wanted to include this as a before image.

At ground level, we have a regular Publix with the GreenWise layout!

Customer service was relocated, and a lot of items were moved during the remodel.

Publix Event Planning is now called Publix Catering?

This is the only source of new Publix in the entire store.

Aisle 11, also known as Section 2, is the last aisle in the store. Note that there were 10 numbered aisles when this was a GreenWise.

Produce department, located to the west of aisles 6 and 7.

For comparison, here is produce shown when this was a Publix GreenWise.

The current aisle 7 is the last aisle in section 1 of the store. Frozen food was originally where dairy is at now.

The Publix Aprons sign to the left is the meal kit that Publix offers.

The current location of dairy. I can also see some repainted GreenWise interior to the modern Publix standards.

There are 3 wine signs in this section of the store. I guess that Publix really wants you to know that this is the wine section!

Here is what is now the wine section as shown during this store's days as a GreenWise.

This used to be a part of the Publix Deli and a specialty cheese counter.

Now heading our way towards the deli department, home of the Pub Sub!

The relocated cheese counter at Publix 1182. This is my second Publix with a cheese counter, the first was at store 1456.

The Publix Bakery, opposite from the deli. The bakery sign is the only surviving element from GreenWise.

This hot bar sign is made for the new Evergreen interior, as noted by the font in regular and condensed sizes.

This store was remodeled prior to when Evergreen had a complete rollout.

The front end checkouts, with 5 regular lanes and 2 express lanes. This is shown after the conversions...

...and back to the GreenWise era!

Looking from one of the checkouts, we can see signs for the family restroom, and the floral department.

Welcome to another edition of Checkout Countdown! In this presentation, we are located at Publix 1182 in Hyde Park.

This thank you sign was added by Publix after the remodel in July 2019.

...and now to the modern era of Publix, with an interesting placement of the deli sign below the mezzanine.

These tables were replaced after the conversion was complete. There used to be a customer service desk at this corner, but it was relocated.

Here is the customer service desk from this store’s days as a Publix GreenWise.

This Publix also has 2 elevators to transport shopping carts or anything related to Class A loading.

And finally, the exterior of the store in the GreenWise days!
