Lotte Plaza Market - Orlando, FL (W. Colonial)

Welcome back to GTB Retail after 3 months on break! To start off, why not go into a fiesta of supermarkets with this former Winn-Dixie store?

Winn-Dixie #2300/SaveRite #2656/Winn-Dixie #2656/Lotte Plaza Market
3191 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL

Opened in 1960 as Winn-Dixie #2300 and received an expansion and remodel in the late 1990's. This Winn-Dixie store was converted to SaveRite in 2000 and reopened as store #2656. In 2011, after Winn-Dixie decided to retire the SaveRite name, this location and 5 others were converted back into Winn-Dixie stores. This location reopened as Winn-Dixie #2656.

After 54 years serving West Colonial Drive, Winn-Dixie #2656 closed in November 2014.

The PHARMACY and LIQUOR signage are original to Winn-Dixie's exterior remodeling and expansion in the 1990's.

Here is a peek inside of Winn-Dixie #2656, showing the Transformational aisle and checkout signage. The rest of the interior was from SaveRite.

Now for some interior pictures taken after Winn-Dixie #2656 closed in late 2014. This is a view of the produce department.

Because this store converted back to a Winn-Dixie in 2011, all that they did was restock the shelves and put in some newer aisle signage and checkouts.

I believe that frozen foods would have been located after produce, although I am not totally sure.

Did you know that the full-service deli was in use until 2014? Because SaveRite did not operate deli departments, Winn-Dixie must have blocked off this section in 2000 and reopened it 11 years later.

On February 1, 2019, 4 years after Winn-Dixie #2656 closed, this location was reopened as a Korean grocery store called Lotte Plaza Market. Normally, the brand is found in Virginia, New Jersey and Maryland, but this is the first location to open outside of those states.

The placement of the entrance/exit doors is in the original Winn-Dixie configuration, with two exit doors in the center, and another entrance door off to the right. These automatic doors are also original to Winn-Dixie's 1990's remodel.

Welcome to a whole new shopping experience! The balloons spelling out the store's name is shown after you enter through the doors.

When Lotte opened in 2019, this place was gutted and remodeled to remove all traces of Winn-Dixie's past.

The store's café, with various foods from Korean origin.

I think that this bread counter is placed after the café, but I am unsure.

Regular groceries to the left of aisle 1, produce to the right!

Seafood is located after produce, similar to a 2010's Publix store.

Because this is a Korean grocery store, there is also a Kosher Deli section!

Immediately located after kosher products is the meat department.

Aisle 6 has a mix of frozen foods and regular groceries.

Off to aisle 8, which has an entire selection of frozen products!

Lotte Plaza Market counts this rear facing aisle as 13. This section feels like a Costco or Sam's Club due to the final aisles having a warehouse style look.

One of the signs for dairy located along aisle 13.

Now that we are done looking at the perimeter of the store, let's check out!

Thanks for shopping, let's head outside for some more exterior images!

And finally, the road sign for Parkwood Plaza, with Winn-Dixie (2011 to 2014) as the primary tenant.
