Westshore Mall - Tampa, FL
Westshore Mall
101-525 Westshore Plaza, Tampa, FL
Opened on September 28, 1967, and consisted of original anchor Mass Brothers (now Macy's) which opened on October 28, 1966, 1 year before the mall opened. J.C. Penney opened on September 7, 1967, and is the only original anchor remaining as of 2019. The mall was expanded in 1974, along with the north parking garage, and J.W. Robinson's. The company decided to sell the Robinson's locations to Maison Blanche in 1987, followed by Dillard's in 1991 and closed after International Mall opened in 2001. Sears opened in 2002 and is in the process of closing after 17 years in operation. In 1991, Mass Brothers was acquired by Burdine's, and then Macy's in 2005. Saks Fifth Avenue opened on November 12, 1998 along with the west and south parking garages. Saks Fifth closed in 2013, and became a Dick's Sporting Goods in 2014. Saks Fifth Avenue should have moved to International Mall, but that was later cancelled. The most recent expansion in 2000 involved relocating the mall's food court to the east of the former Pantry Pride grocery store, and a new wing of mall space with a 14-screen AMC movie theater on level 2.
The parking garage, pictured here, opened in 1974 as part of the mall's first expansion.
Signs telling drivers that a right turn cannot be made. Instead, the exit is straight ahead.
Now, some pictures from inside the mall! This is from the north end of the food court.
Here is a map of Westshore Mall.
After you exit the south side of the food court, immediately after Claire's, you turn left to see Irish 31, the now-closed Starbucks, and some other storefronts.
Signs directing visitors to a specific area of the mall. Sears is still on the sign, even though the store is closed.
