The New Channelside Publix - Tampa, FL

After 10 years in the making, the new Channelside Publix is now open! Here are photos of the new store:

Publix #1549
1105 E. Twiggs St, Tampa, FL

This Publix opened on August 29, 2019 after multiple construction delays at the site of the store. Groundbreaking was done in 2015, with store 1549 not starting construction until 2017.

1549 is a 2017 store number, and because this Publix opened in 2019, Publix did not assign a 16xx store number.

The outside parking garage entrance.

Welcome to Channel Club! This parking garage is used for Publix #1549 and the Channel Club Apartments. The leasing center is found on level 3 of the garage.

Tampa is also getting a GreenWise Market at 815 Water Street. That store is expected to open in 2021.

Choose wisely about your vehicle's height zone! The 7 feet lane is for regular vehicles.

For oversized vehicles, use the 8 feet 2 lane, which is on your left.

Warning: Maximum clearance in this area is 7 feet, so be prepared to back up if necessary!

After driving towards the parking garages, we are now at the Publix store! Remember, choose wisely about the vehicle height lanes!

Now leaving the parking garage to go to the main store via the elevators!

Additional Publix parking. I took this picture specifically for the views of the Crosstown Expressway from the new Publix.

Let's access the "Pub-evators" to the grocery store's entrances!

Welcome to your NEW Publix! This sign greets you as you enter the store through one of the entrances.

Going down to Level 1 via the elevators...

...and now we are here! This section is extra dining space.

The green beans welcome you to Publix #1549 as an indication that this store has the Sienna interior. Inside, you will see the 28M layout.

This store is 36,764 square feet in size.

As usual in these 28M stores, the bakery and deli are placed along the entire length of aisle 1.

An example of the split aisle formation exclusive to these stores. Aisles 1 to 14 are placed in a row, with the center aisle being a part of the split.

Produce is placed at the end of aisles 1 and 14 in this store.

Now approaching aisle 10, with a look at signage for aisles 10 and 11, along with meats.

Aisle 10 is a part of the frozen foods section in store 1549. Straight ahead is aisle 9.

Aisle 9, with signage for the pharmacy and dairy visible.

Aisle 8 is home to health and beauty products.

This photo shows you that aisle 11 is shorter than the rest of the aisles in this store.

Pet products and household supplies can be found in aisle 7.

The updated pharmacy counter, which is rolling out in new locations only.

It's time to check out and leave! There are a total of 6 regular checkouts and 2 express registers, which combined, is a total of 8 checkouts.

Thank you for shopping at the main part of Publix, but we are actually not done yet!

Let's go up to level 2 for a look at the dining area!

The store's break room/dining area with a lot of tables! Plus, you can get a view of Downtown Tampa!

Now that we left the main store, here we are at the main parking garage!

Thank you for shopping at Publix #1549 in Tampa!

Because we are exiting the store, we are required to make a left turn and stop. If you were continuing to the Channel Club Apartments or using the oversize vehicles lot, then keep going straight.

Thank you for reading this post about a new Publix! Now it's time to go to a complete stop...
