It's The Blue Walmart! - Store #1203, Wimauma, FL.

Walmart #1203 (1st Location)/Bealls Florida #33
3846 State Road 674, Ruskin, FL.
The original Walmart #1203 opened on June 2, 1988 and was a typical Division 1 discount store. Closed on April 18, 2007 to relocate to a new Supercenter 3 miles to the east. Later became Bealls #33 in early 2008.
Bealls did a complete renovation of the interior and exterior, so there are no traces of Walmart's past to be seen here!
The layout and interior is Bealls' 2000's format with a mix of warehouse and drop ceilings around the store.
A look at one of the clothing sections inside Bealls.
Let's exit Bealls and head on over to the Walmart Supercenter!
Walmart #1203 (2nd Location)
4928 State Road 674, Wimauma, FL.
The new Walmart #1203 opened on April 19, 2007 as a relocation for the former store above, and was one of the last to feature the old Wal-Mart logo before 2008. A look at the first interior of the store can be found here, but scroll down to where it says "2009 Remodel".
Please note that all entrances except the liquor store are labeled in real life, I just decided to put some text to fill in the extra blank space.
We will be entering through the home & pharmacy entrance, instead of the grocery side like in other Walmart stores.
These anti-theft gates is where a Walmart greeter would normally stand, and were installed in the 2020 remodel. Also, these gates open and close via motion sensors.
One way in through the entrance, one way out through the checkouts!
Welcome to your... Walmart! If you look closely, you can see emergency exit text indicating that an alarm will sound if you are exiting in the wrong direction.
One of the newer store directories for Walmart's 2020 interior look.
Walmart's (sort-of updated) pharmacy department. This store's layout is similar to store #308 in Manchester, Tennessee.
Approaching the garden center, here we can see signage for the home section (Aisle H) and health/beauty (Aisle G).
Signage that leads to the garden center, which can be seen entering and exiting.
Walmart's 2018-style yellow aisle signs, primarily to serve mobile app users.
Get a weed and grass killer for just $6.86 at Walmart in the garden center!

Overhead signage for cosmetics and one of the aisles (G27/G28)
Here you can see the bigger sign for the same department, as viewed from the same aisle.
Some more blue Walmart signage! We are still in health and beauty, although we are just a few steps away from checkouts.
Ready for this? New Walmart interior, and the checkouts survived 2 different generations of remodels!
Another look at the checkouts from a zoomed out perspective.
Before the self-checkouts were added in the 2013/2014 Project Impact 3.0 remodel, I believe that there were 30 to 32 regular checkouts in store 1203.
Now approaching the Grocery side of the store, here is signage for the ladies department and one of the store directories.
If you look closely, lawn & garden's directory is placed in the opposite direction!
There are a total of 31 grocery aisles (or 15 if you count each one).
An example of Ziploc bags found in it's packaging for 20, 40, and 60 gallon bags.
Cleaning supplies have their own separate department rather than including them in one of the grocery aisles.
Signage for nursing rooms and the restrooms. This was the former Walmart pickup location until 3 or 4 years ago.
Televisions can be found behind the cell phones and accessories here in Walmart stores.
An example of a regular Walmart blue sign for the 2020 look, this one is for jewelry.
There were 8 out of 26 registers open in store 1203, causing backups like this.
And to conclude our blog post, a picture of the road sign facing US 301.

Neat to see the checkouts have survived so many remodels!
