Publix #395 - Saint Petersburg, Florida

Welcome back to the GTB Area Retail Blog after a nearly 2-month blog break! Since Publix #125 in Gainesville is in the process of a complete rebuild, here is a very similar Publix store located in Saint Petersburg.

Publix #395
10496 Roosevelt Blvd. North, Saint Petersburg, FL - Gateway Crossings

Opened on August 30, 1990. Publix #395 is 43,290 square feet in size.

The main road sign facing Roosevelt Boulevard, which appears to be a recent install.

Publix #395's exterior. A remodel in 2017 added a pharmacy and a new exterior sign.

Just like Publix stores #315 and #310, the entrance is split into two sides. The left secondary entrance faces the bakery and aisles 11 to 14, while the right side entrance is the main one.

The left set of entry doors into Publix #395.

Stepping inside, this welcome to Publix sign with the green beans indicates that store 395 has the Sienna interior!

Here is our first look at the front end, with 8 total checkouts. Lanes 2 and 7 are the only express lanes in store 395, which unlike other Publix stores, the express lanes here are in opposite ends.

This Publix pharmacy was added in 2017, replacing a section of promotional cards and displays.

Dairy takes up the entire length of aisle 1. This is a feature in Publix stores built from the 1970's to the 1990's.

The aisle numbers are a mix and match type of situation, with some aisles having the Avenur font, and others with Myriad Pro.

I did not get a picture of the deli due to the usual Publix lines since this was taken after lunchtime.

Publix meats are located after the store's deli department.

Publix stores like these have raised ceilings over most of the grocery aisles. This Publix has them over aisles 3 to 10.

The bakery is located in the front left corner of the store, as we are about to approach aisle 13...

Aisle 13 is the first aisle in the frozen foods section. You can see a part of the seafood service counter at the end of this grocery aisle.

Sorry about the angle of this picture, but the last aisle here (#14) was busy!

Produce in these 1990's Publix stores can be found in the store’s last aisle.

Located after produce and before frozen foods, is the rather small section of floral.

Aisle 14 will conclude the grocery part of the store. You can see where the bakery department's ceiling goes lower in between frozen foods and part of the sales floor. This is a feature present in 1980's and 1990's Publix stores.

One more look at the grocery aisles before we approach the front end for the second time...

Checkout lanes 4 to 8 in store 395. Above the checkout lights, you can see a large light fixture.

A picture of the main entrance and a part of the pharmacy, as seen from checkout lane 7.

Customer service is placed in between the two entrances, a feature which is very similar to a 1980's model Albertsons superstore.

A thank you for shopping Publix sign, located above the three restroom doors!

This set of stairs takes you up to the second floor, where there are some employee break rooms and offices.

And after I left Publix #395, I found this set of flashing beacon crosswalks located along 9th Street.
